Agriculture is in the midst of an ecological and technological transition. Robotics ticks just about every box for sustainability, but regulatory and economic issues are holding back its integration on French soil.

Agricultural robots have been around for a long time and are already being used in various areas of French agriculture, but there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of autonomy and adaptation to withstand different climatic and terrain constraints. It is with ambitious projects like RobAgri that these goals will be achieved.

RobAgri: an association for the robotisation of agriculture

Initiated by Axema, the French union of agri-equipment manufacturers, it has a clear objective: to develop the agricultural robotics of tomorrow.

RobAgri creates a collective dynamic capable of innovating more rapidly to meet the needs of users at national and international levels by bringing together a variety of players from the public and private sectors. The members are robotics start-ups, agricultural machinery and electronics manufacturers, research and teaching laboratories, competitiveness clusters and agricultural production structures.

The association focuses its work on standardisation, safety and performance testing of robots and their adaptation to farmers' needs. Agricultural robotics is a very competitive and rapidly expanding market and France can become a leader if it gives itself the means to do so. A structure to facilitate the design, certification and marketing of innovative robots, RobAgri aims to mobilise the skills of all its players.

The association enables the sharing of information on international technology watch, algorithmic tools, sensors and solutions, as well as robot testing and certification platforms.

Agreenculture within RobAgri

4 years after its formation, Robagri has a new president, Christophe Aubé, CEO and founder of Agreenculture.

President since 2021, Christophe Aubé is responsible for promoting the animation and development of the association by ensuring RobAgri remains a negotiating player when dealing with regulatory institutes and other organisations involved in the fields of agriculture and robotics.
